CHAPTER 5
--------------------------
Now I am providing you with the solutions of chapter 5( First Law of Thermodynamics for flow process )
Before I start providing you the solutions I would like to give a brief introduction of this chapter.
In this chapter you have studied the difference between Eulerian and Lagrangian approach. You have also studied about SFEE(Steady Flow Energy Equation) and the method to derive it.
You have learned how to use SFEE on to different flow devices.
You have also studied about Unsteady state energy equation.
One more very important concept you have studied is the difference between mechanical energy and total energy.
So let us start:
Dear friends for a quick review of what I said above you can click the videos below where I am giving a quick review of SFEE and USFEE along with applications.
Now starting exercise problems:
This is all I have to say on this chapter. These problems are of 4th edition.
One
more thing I want to say ( which I have also mentioned in previous post) that please do not follow the solutions
blindly. firstly try yourself and if find difficulty in solving then
only look the solutions.
After few days I will be publishing next chapter solutions so stay connected.
your comments are valuable to me, so please do write them. If any problem in any solution then also let me know.
Thankyou
All the Best.
this chapter was making me crazy but u have really helped me undestand the concept. thank u so much sir
ReplyDeleteThanks Sir for such a nice work. I was in trouble to solve the last questions of this chapter but here I am not only get the solutions but also get some concepts.
ReplyDeleteSir You have really helped me to excel with this chapter with you amazing notes...Thanks for that sir

ReplyDeleteThank you very much.
ReplyDeletethe 22th question is lit tricky in units.. thanks sir
ReplyDeletesir is there a solution for other chapters also
ReplyDeletemore over do you have video lectures for this subject

ReplyDeleteThank you very much.....
ReplyDeleteThanks sir.it really helped
ReplyDeletequestion 17 on page 16 is calculated wrong. it gives value 352.85 instead of 303.85... you mentioned Q/2m is (-100kJ/kg) but we have but 100 is for per kg mass m, for twice the mass 2m we will get twice the amount of heat i.e., -200kJ/2m mass... and as you calculate with it we will get correct answer.
ReplyDeleteI was searching for it. You are correct
DeleteThankyou sir it helped me alot
